Welcome to Studz ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

  • Account Information: When you sign in to Studz using Google or Apple authentication, we collect the following information from your chosen authentication provider:

    • From Google Sign-In: Email address, display name (full name), profile photo URL, and unique Google user ID

    • From Apple Sign-In: Email address (if you choose to share it), full name (if you choose to share it), and unique Apple user ID

    • This authentication information is stored securely in our Firebase database and is used to enable secure cross-device synchronization of your academic data, provide a personalized experience across all your devices, maintain account security, and allow you to access your schedules and study data from any device

    • Important: You can use Studz without creating an account. All features work locally on your device without requiring sign-in. Account creation is optional and only needed for cloud synchronization

  • Profile Information: When you create a user profile in Studz, we collect the following information that you voluntarily provide:

    • Required Information: First name and last name

    • Optional Information: Age (for age-appropriate features), email address (if different from authentication email), and education level (e.g., High School, Undergraduate, Graduate, etc.)

    • Profile Settings: Cloud synchronization preference and account timestamps

    • This profile information is used to personalize your app experience, provide relevant features based on your education level, enable cloud synchronization when you choose to sync your data, and improve our services

    • Data Storage: Your profile information is stored both locally on your device and in our secure Firebase cloud database (only when you enable cloud sync). You can disable cloud synchronization at any time, which will keep your data stored only locally on your device

Usage Information

 

  • Schedule Data: Your class schedules, exam schedules, and study sessions that you input into the app. This includes subject names, class times, room numbers, teacher names, exam dates, and study session details. This data is stored locally on your device and optionally synchronized to our cloud servers when you enable cloud sync.

  • Reminder Preferences: Your notification settings, reminder timings, and notification preferences for classes, exams, and study sessions.

  • App Usage: How you interact with the app, including which features you use most frequently and general usage patterns (anonymized and aggregated for app improvement).

Device Information

 

  • Device Identifiers: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.

  • Location Data: We may collect location information if you enable location-based features (optional).

  • App Permissions: Notification permissions and other app-specific permissions you grant.

Local Storage

 

  • All your academic data (schedules, exams, study sessions) is stored locally on your device using Hive database.

  • This ensures your data is always accessible even without an internet connection.

  • We do not have access to your locally stored data unless you explicitly enable cloud synchronization.

Cloud Storage (Optional)

 

  • When you sign in and enable cloud synchronization, your data is securely stored in Firebase Firestore with the following security measures:

    • End-to-end encryption for data in transit

    • AES-256 encryption for data at rest

    • User-specific data isolation

    • Regular security audits and updates

  • Authentication Security: We use Firebase Authentication with Google and Apple Sign-In, which provides enterprise-grade security and follows industry best practices for user authentication.

    • Choose whether to sync your data to the cloud

    • Delete your account and all associated data at any time

  • Privacy Controls: You can use the app entirely offline without creating an account, ensuring complete privacy and local-only data storage.

  • You can control notification settings and reminder preferences within the app.

  • You can opt out of certain types of notifications while keeping essential reminders.

Account Deletion

 

  • You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

  • Deleted data cannot be recovered.
